Arc - Blood before Benevolence

The first thing that she could remember…was how pretty the canopy was. The gentle trees filtering pure light through their outstretched branches. Like trying to grasp water, only for it to slip through your fingers. She would see them everywhere, always passing by; waving their leaves farewell. They moved constantly and were everywhere. No place was without her little companions, so still yet so alive. She also found them funny. As a child she would see animals changing their fur and thought that the trees were jealous, which is why they dyed their leaves brilliant colors to outdo the silky white of the rabbit and fox.

Everything is pure and wonderful as a child. The best parts of hers was spent gazing upwards and around. Absorbing everything, understanding little and hoping that tomorrow was just as perfect. Though another part of her childhood was filled with bloodshed, raids, and the cool metal blades sparking fire in the air. The life that she lived was parallel to what she understood. The people around her were hardened criminals and her father the worst of them all. They moved place to place only to destroy and demolish. It was filled with fire and hatred. Even this part of her life she deemed wonderful. As she was carried on her father’s cart she would see the pretty hues of blood on his favorite blade and the sweet smell of cooked meat. Unbeknown that it was human.
